Do you have one of the 9 Stress symptoms?

Too much (work) stress and/or systematically going beyond your limits is bad for your health and well-being. But how do you recognise that you are exceeding your limits? Recognise stress symptoms.
Do you suffer stress symptoms?

What are stress symptoms:

  • Are you sometimes exhausted and overtired?
  • Can’t sleep well?
  • Are you easily irritated?
  • Do you worry a lot?
  • Does it take effort to start your work?
  • Do you suffer from backache, headaches or are you sometimes dizzy or nauseous?
  • Are you having difficulty concentrating?
  • Do you feel agitated?
  • Do you now and then have the feeling that you have no grip on the situation?

These are some of the stress symptoms and signs of too much stress and an (incipient) burnout.

A record 43% of workers experience high levels of stress

Globally, in 2020, a record 43% of workers reported high levels of stress on a daily basis.America and Canada take the top spot. 62% of female employees in the US and Canada told research bureau Gallup that they had experienced a lot of stress the previous day, compared to 52% of male employee.*

As long as the causes persist, stress usually does not go away by itself. So it is important to spot the signs in time and take action.

What can you do to manage stress?

Take stress symptoms seriously. Find work or activities that satisfies you and try to solve problems. In addition, go to bed on time and get up on time. And do relaxing things and exercise. Meditation also seems to help.

How calming lavender can help

There are also aids, such as a stress ball filled with lavender that you put next to your laptop and which you squeeze when the stress builds up or just before. The soothing smell of lavender that is released helps, as does the squeezing itself.

It can also be very helpful for children. Children with concentration problems often benefit from holding, squeezing or fidgeting with something in their hand. If this is something that releases the soothing scent of lavender then this can be a great benefit.

In this blog you can read how to make your own stress ball. Just making a stress ball is a relaxing activity. 😊 If you are not that creative, you can also buy one.

This is one of the ways you can use calming lavender against stress. Want to know more? Order my free e-book
