Natural dye from the elderberry would give a nice lilac even without mordant. The colour variation from lilac to purple is interesting enough for me to try it as a natural dye for my sheep wool. Lavender wands or lavender botteles can only be made in the summer when the lavender is fresh. It is a bit of a chore, but once you get the hang of it, it looks and smells great.
