The dandelion has just started to bloom in the fields. I’m curious to see how natural dyeing wool with dandelion will turn out. Now that I have an abundance of sheep’s wool, the time has come to make something of it. I bought the book Wild Color by Jenny Dean and I’m eager to get started.
Epson salt can be used in the body scrub I wrote about last week. But of course you can also use Epson salt in your bath. Making lavender bath salt is very easy. For yourself or as a present for een friend to have a relaxing bath or foot bath.
Make your own DIY body scrub. It is very easy to do and much better and healthier than the onces you buy. It takes you just 15 minutes. I made this body scrub from coconut oil, Epson salt and dried lavender. If you want you can add a few drops of lavender oil, but you don’t have to.
Properly sealed and in the dark, essential oils keep for a long time. I thought I had stored my essential oil well, but it turned out that some bottles had fallen over and where slowly emptying. So I needed a essential oil storage system. How to store bottles of essential oil so they stay good and without falling over? Simple DIY project that takes only 10 minutes of time.
Today I’m going to distil lavender oil. Last year I followed a workshop in the Netherlands How to distil Lavender Oil. Since then I’ve made orange oil from organic orange peels, mint oil and oregano oil. But no lavender oil yet.
Sheep’s wool is a beautiful material, but unfortunately in general it scores poorly on animal friendliness and environment. Positive is that it doesn’t contain any plastics and it stays warm en beautifull a very long time. Against this background, it’s pretty crazy that the shepherd in my neighbourhood can’t get rid of his wool. He has a shed full of it and nobody wants it.
Today I tell you how to make lavender soap with dried lavender. The result is a wonderfully smelling, nourishing soap for your whole body.
Soap making always went well, but maybe it was beginner’s luck. Since a few years I make my own soap with laurel berry oil. And a basic olive oil soap. I had excellent results. Until today. What went wrong with the soap? I tell you.
